    OUT OF DISTRICT:

For Students Resident OUTSIDE of the District

For students not resident in the district, the enrollment process is different for the two schools. Harmony Elementary and Salmon Creek Schools operate with different designations. Harmony Elementary is a “school of the distirct” which requires district residency or an approved inter-district transfer agreement.  Salmon Creek Charter is a “charter school of choice” and does not require an inter-district agreement to attend, however enrollment is limited to class size and program availability.

For Harmony Elementary (grades Tk-1st), out of district students must apply for an interdistrict transfer.  This transfer request requires apporval by both their district of residence and Harmony Union. Inter district transfers are only accepted if documentation meets requirements and space and program are avilable for the out of district child. In the event a class or program is full for out of district enrollment, applications will be collected and a lottery, held in the spring (or when the previous wait list is expended), will assign position for pending applicants on the wait list. When capacity allows wait list applicants will be contacted in the order of their placement on the list to consider an offer of enrollment.

    Application for Enrollment

    Inter-district Transfer Agreement

    Immunization Record

    Dental and Health Assessment Forms

    Birth Record

For Salmon Creek Charter (grades 2nd through 8th), out of district students are not required to complete an interdistrict transfer agreement. Enrollment is still dependent on space and program availabiilty. Applications for enrolment to the charter are received throughout the year.  Annually in the spring, a lottery is held to generate an ordered list for offers of placement for the following school year.  Students not offered placement due to space and program capacity will be placed on the ordered waitlist. Applications received after the lottery date will be held in reserve until the existing wait list is expended. If the list is expended before the next annual lottery, a new lottery will be held with enrollment or space on the waitlist assigned according to the lottery results.

    Inter District Policy

Harmony Union School District participates in the County-wide Interdisttict Transfer Agreement.  Families wishing to enroll students in districts for which they are not resident, use a common form and process for requesting transfers.  The form must be filled out by the parent and then submitted first to the distirct of residence noting the intended destination district.  The district of residence will review the document, and if affirmed, will return it to the parent for submission with their application to the intended district of enrollment.  Please use the links below for both the interdistrict Transfer Form and Interdistrict Handbook.

If your student is accepted on an interdistrict transfer in any of the grades Transition Kindergarten, Kindergarten or 1st Grade, you must fill out the interdistrict transfer form below and submit it to your home district first.  Once your home district  has approved the transfer, that district will go forward to Harmony Union.
