Box Tops
We all shop for groceries, sometimes two or three times a week –- or more. Now turn those shopping trips into easy cash for our school kitchen, and encourage friends to do the same! Just look for the Box Tops logo on hundreds of products. All you need to do is clip and take them to the office. There is a box labeled “Cathie’s Kitchen”. Each one is worth 10¢!
Renaissance Friday - Sewing
The next Renaissance Friday is December 11th from 1:30-3:00. We need 4 or 5 people to bring sewing machines and supervise pairs of kids for a sewing project. Contact these ladies as well if you have a skill that you would like to share with a small group of middle school students, or if you’d like to help as an assistant. We have a few more Ren Friday’s later this school year if December doesn’t work for you.
Playground Improvement
Thank you to the school board, site council, Ark, and all the families who have donated to our playground improvement project. We are still taking donations in the hopes of having a playground in the spring.
Grant Writers Needed
There are a couple of playground improvement grants that we know of and most likely some we don’t that can go a long way in helping us meet our goal. We really need a grant writer or two to make this happen. If you have any experience writing grants and would like to help, please contact Donna Cates: donna@telecomdeseigns.com <mailto:donna@telecomdeseigns.com> or 874-1364.
Ark Meetings
Our parent group, the Ark, mostly meets every other Tuesday just after drop off. Our next meeting is Tuesday, December 15th in the conference room off the side of the Environmental Falls building. The meetings start at 8:30, but you are welcome to drop in at any time. All Harmony and Salmon Creek families are members of the Ark and the meetings are open to all. Please join us to find out what is happening to enhance our schools.

Harmony Ark 2010 Calendar
We’ve changed from a school year calendar to a calendar year calendar:
-January – December 2010
-Lots of pictures of lots of students
-Designed by students
-School dates included for January-June
-Makes a great holiday gift!
-$25 while supplies last (proceeds go to the Harmony Ark Education Foundation to fund school programs). We only have 40 calendars, and once we run out, the price goes up to $35.

Please turn in your order form by December 16th and receive your calendar before school is out for Winter break.
Return order form with payment to Missy in school office, your child’s teacher, or mail to the Ark, P.O. Box 1017, Occidental, CA 95465. Please make checks out to the Ark.
