Summer Planning Meeting and Potluck: We have scheduled a summer planning meeting, at which we will be discussing plans and priorities for next school year. Everyone is welcome and we hope many people will be able to attend to share their vision and ideas to continue making our schools the best that they can be. The meeting will be in the school garden, and babysitting will be provided, so bring your children, a bite of food to share, and your ideas. SATURDAY, JUNE 26 AT 3:00 P.M. Renaissance Friday: The final Renaissance Friday of the year is this Friday, May 21, 1:00-3:00. This Ark sponsored program allows middle school students the opportunity to try their hands at new and unique projects and skills outside the usual curriculum. If you are able to help on Friday, your assistance would be appreciated. Please contact Donna at donna@harmonyark.org or even just show up on Friday to lend a helping hand.
Ark Elections: The Ark Board has postponed elections to the Ark Board and offices in order to have time to develop clear job descriptions to help interested individuals determine if there is a job that is right for them. We will be working on those descriptions in the next few weeks and into the summer, and anticipate having the elections as we return to school. In the meantime, fourth grade and kindergarten parent Bonnie Covel has been appointed as interim Ark President. We thank Benjamynn Gabriel, for his hard work, energy, and dedication to the Ark, school programs, and District students during his term as President and his ongoing service to the Ark and our students as an Ark Board member.
Playground Update: We have ordered the equipment for the new play structure, and it is now time to plan for the community build of this great project. A planning meeting for those interested in participating in the build will be held on Saturday, June 5, at 12:00; meet at the tables behind the cafeteria. Look for more detailed information coming home with your child, and if you have any questions please contact Sadik at zadeek@hotmail.com.
