The fifth grade class has undertaken a year-long study of waste at our school. The students' first project was learning about biodegradable waste, or compost. They then began to compost all appropriate cafeteria waste in large-scale worm bins in a process called vermi-composting. Every day, students collect lunch waste with the help of our recycling coordinator Leah Bottarini. Fifth graders are assisted with composting by 7th grader Tristan Parks.
